mini christmas dessert table

December 23rd, 2010|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |4 Comments

Tradition in our family is a Christmas Eve feast. That is our big event, Christmas Day has always been about going to church and then chilling with family and having left overs for lunch. So tomorrow night my family will sit down to a Traditional Roast Turkey dinner, with all the trimmings. And then of course, dessert. We will have a rice pudding {traditional dessert from Mum’s side} and my husband has declared pecan pie is our family’s new dessert tradition. But in addition to those, I designed this little dessert table for our special night. We […]

frosty, is that you?!

December 22nd, 2010|Categories: crafts|Tags: |17 Comments

So we can’t build snowmen out of snow in our backyards here. If you can where you are, then I think you’re lucky. I can’t wait until I can take my kids somewhere to experience a White Christmas so they can build their own Frosty. I have such fond memories of building snowmen, snow castles and making snow angels and snow cones as a little kid.But who said Frosty has to be built out of snow? This was a very last minute project. We were out over the weekend, I saw the lanterns and thought […]

reindeer food

December 21st, 2010|Categories: crafts, printables|Tags: , |0 Comments

One of our Advent activities over the weekend was to make some Reindeer Food. This is a tradition in our home and I love the simple fun of it.All you need is some oats, sugar, food colouring {red & green} and some edible glitter if you like. Please make sure it’s edible glitter, as you’re putting this out in the garden and it may attract birds or other animals and if eaten you want to make sure the poppets will be ok!Here’s our set up:You want to find sugar crystals that are quite large […]

At Christmas, I feel like I spend everyday whipping something up in the kitchen. I love it though, it’s part of the season to me.I made this yesterday for a BBQ we were having with friends. Just thought I’d share our Christmas treesA little one in our family roomOur main tree all lit upMy beautiful boy, who has inherited all my Christmas spirit plus some, had to have his own little tree in his room last year, and so of course this year we brought it out for him to decorate again.BUT this year I bought $5 battery operated multicoloured lights from Big W especially for his little tree so it could look like “the fancy ones” he sees elsewhere. Please excuse the bad photo, you get the best effect when […]
