bunny breakfast

March 31st, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |5 Comments

We had some Easter themed French Toast for breakfast the other day.I love French Toast and find it is a great way to use up some bread that might not last much longer. We had bunny, carrot and easter egg shapes Add some yum fruit – I think I need some extremely tiny cutters to make shapes out of banana! This little sweetheart also joined in on the yummy fun. You might notice she has a different high chair. This $25 Ikea Antilop is the best high chair! Sure it is limited in ‘functions’ but once they […]

eggs in a basket

March 28th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |2 Comments

I loved this idea from Sweet Paul Magazine! Little eggs in a basket.Using a muffin tin you can make these cuties. Just cut the crusts off the bread and butter both sides. Don’t forget to grease your tin, too. They will get super stuck otherwise! Then place in a 180 degree oven for about 5 minutes just to give the bread a head start. Crack an egg into each basket and place back in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until egg white is cooked. Yum!Next time we are going to add prosciutto and maybe a bit […]

easter toppers

March 27th, 2011|Categories: printables|Tags: , |2 Comments

These cute Easter toppers are now available in my store. They are so versatile and don’t need to be used just as cupcake toppers! Here are a few other ways we have used them in our home. My son will be taking these into school for his friends for Easter, I just cut the toppers out as squares and used double sided tape to attach them to a lollipop.I punched and tied a tag to a basket filled with Easter books. We always have a basket of Christmas books around at Christmas time, but when I […]

being present & a home made play mat

March 25th, 2011|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , |4 Comments

Lately, things have been slipping. Housework, uni work, quality time with the kiddos, with my husband. The semester at uni started and it always takes me a while to get into the new groove of things. Then my beautiful 93 year old Grandmother passed away and we flew overseas for the funeral quite unexpectedly. Come home and we’re all sick and it takes us 3 weeks to shake it. Add to all of that a miscarriage and some medical tests for me and it’s been a rollercoaster 2011 already!Jade’s post about spending too much […]

chocolate spoons

March 21st, 2011|Categories: crafts|Tags: |4 Comments

We recently made some chocolate spoons :o}They are very very easy. Just melt your chocolate…Transfer melted chocolate onto the spoon {i used plastic ones left over from a party}, taking care not to over fill.Add what ever sprinkles you like.Allow to set in the fridge. I told you it was easy! This is white chocolate with coloured sprinkles, silver edible glitter and hundreds and thousands.Milk chocolate looks nice too, sprinkled with gold edible glitter, chocolate ‘ants’ as they are called in this house and mini gingerbread people.I have heard of these being referred to as “coffee spoons” […]

a little fridge tip

March 19th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: |1 Comment

I line my fridge drawers with butchers paper. More specifically the fruit and vegetable drawers as these can sometimes get a little messy – especially thanks to those pesky onions that flake all over the place!Lining the drawer with butchers paper makes cleaning the fridge a breeze, just take it out when you are cleaning and recycle it. Wipe the drawer and replace with clean butchers paper. This little thing has saved me a lot of time when it comes to fridge cleaning!I used to use paper towel, which is still a great option. […]

a frog friend – and a good cause koala

March 17th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |0 Comments

One of my little guys favourite gifts for his birthday this year was this completely adorable frog.He is just absolutely beautiful and of fantastic quality.I have talked about Sarah at Bit Of Whimsy Dolls before {we gave our daughter a beautiful doll for her first Christmas} but I continue to fall in love with her creations. As does Noah, who would love a dinosaur. If you can sew, you can also buy Sarah’s beautiful patterns to make your own beautiful friends. In fact, a very very good reason to buy a pattern is that for the month of March, half […]

mess!!

March 15th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |1 Comment

Does your home look like this at baby meal time?I cannot believe how much mess our little girl makes when she feeds herself {which of course is the ‘in’ thing at the moment}.I think our little guy was mess-a-phobic compared to this one. He made mess but didn’t like it and almost couldn’t wait for his hands and face to be cleaned. She relishes in it, throws food around, smooshes it, squishes it into her hair and even seeks food to throw/smoosh/squish when her tray is empty. This is {was} cauliflower and spinach pasta and […]
