So remember our lovely little library courtesy of my brilliant husband?Well, we have another use for his fabulous creation. A supermarket. We gave our little girl a heap of felt food for her 1st birthday. She LOVES it, especially the tomato which happens to be one of her favourite foods. {These are the IKEA felt food sets}She can’t quite reach the top shelf {but I can’t either at my local supermarket!} :o}Lucky for her Noah is kind enough to take stuff down for her!I hope you have a lovely week ahead. I hope to be back to […]

chocolate pudding cake

May 27th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: |2 Comments

My husband’s birthday was a few weeks ago and he had put the order in for this cake when I showed this cake to him some months ago.It is really quite delicious. It is super moist, quite rich in chocolate flavour but surprisingly not overwhelmingly or sickly sweet. I usually don’t use bought cake mix but this was honestly easy and yummy, I would be happy to make it again for family + friends.Ingredients:1 x box of White Wings Our Favourite Moist Chocolate Cake2 x packets of Cottees instant chocolate pudding mix2 large eggs3 cups […]

oreo pop tutorial

May 23rd, 2011|Categories: recipes|Tags: , |10 Comments

My apologies in taking so long to get this tutorial to you! It’s the hairy end of the semester at uni and we’ve had a lot going on in our little home and so I’ve neglected this little blog. These oreo pops are my favourite things to make for parties or special occasions. They honestly taste divine, and are simple {yet can be tedious} to make. I found the idea on Bakerella’s beautifuly mouth watering site, where she made these oreo truffles. It took a little trial and error to get them to work because […]

May 17th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |19 Comments

Thank you so very much for all the lovely comments everyone. It was certainly fun to put this together and I really enjoyed it.Here’s a little more about our Pink Polka Dot Party! We served pink lemonade, iced water and strawberry milk in carafes. I wish I could take credit for the macarons but I didn’t get past reading the recipe in my book and figuring out that I don’t have a thermometer or 3 day old egg whites! The gorgeous macarons are from For Goodness Cakes and they were delicious. Not one was left […]

Chloe’s 1st Birthday – Polka Dot Party – Part 1

May 16th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |11 Comments

For our little girl’s first birthday we decided on an oh so cute polka dot theme. Pink, of course!I hung a gorgeous polka dot garland on the wall above the table and carried the pink + white polka dot theme throughout. The dessert table featured cupcakes with whipped buttercream frosting, vanilla whoopie pies with lemon cream cheese filling, iced sugar cookies, cream + pink vanilla macarons, oreo pops dipped in white chocolate, a mini candy bar and polka dot cookie take + bake jars for our guests to bring home.Mini glass milk bottles with pink […]

Chloe’s 1st Birthday – Cake Smash

May 15th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |7 Comments

You may have noticed I’ve gone completely pink on the blog! It’s because that is all I have been looking at for a couple of weeks, pink pink pink and more pink.I decided to go for a pink polka dot theme for our baby girl’s first birthday party. I figure I only have so many years that I can really use pink for everything so I will milk it as much as possible. Little Chloe is a tom boy I’m sure, so when she is old enough to have a say I doubt very […]

Happiness Project

May 14th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: |4 Comments

Last month I joined the Seven Cherubs Happiness Project, and today we’re all linking up to share our month of journaling. We’ve had a pretty rough patch as of late and so I felt this was really important to help take stock of what is beautiful in my life, what I am grateful and thankful for and what makes me HAPPY.I really enjoyed this Project – thank you Naomi for being an inspiration. It certainly helped me stay more focused on what is important. Ending the day with purposefully finding something to be grateful for […]

bag organisation

May 12th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: |20 Comments

The other day I was in a shop and I plonked my bag on the counter to get my wallet out.The lady was so intrigued by my bag organisation. She actually talked to me for nearly 10 minutes about her bag troubles and thought this idea was brilliant. Truth is, I just didn’t want to buy a pricey contraption to help organise my bag when a few $4 multi-use pouches from Typo do just as well.So typically this is what you find in my bag, +/- a sippy cup or two and a container […]

diy home library

May 9th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |11 Comments

Earlier in the year we saw this idea on Ohdeedoh and we absolutely LOVED it. Only problem is we don’t have a lot of spare wall space in this house. Bummer. image via OhdeedohI said to my husband that one day, when we have a bigger house, I would love to do this for the kids. He said he’d just make one that we could stick anywhere, instead. Brilliant. I love my husband. And so he built this with some plywood, Ikea Bekvam spice racks {just $6.95 each!} and right angle brackets. And I […]
