chloe’s embroidery hoop wall art

October 30th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |1 Comment

Last week I showed you Noah’s birth stats wall art and if you’re a liker on facebook a while back you would have seen me sharing some photos etc of me working on embroidery hoop art for my little Chloe. Well I’m happy to say that it has been up in her room for a little while now and I really really love it. I don’t 100% love the placement but it wasn’t easy getting small nails into the wall {they go through the plaster and then when they hit the brick they bend or […]

noah’s updated bedroom and new birth stats wall art

October 26th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |7 Comments

We have been doing A LOT of Spring Cleaning here – and when I spring clean I often move furniture! A change is as good as a holiday and I think I’ve changed nearly every room in our house!Noah has a nautical themed bedroom. I have always wanted to have a boy so I could style his room in soft blue, beige and cream with boats and starfish and other nautical things and maps here and there. I have shared his room before – but we moved his bed to the other side of […]

halloween treats

October 25th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |8 Comments

We have been busy making all sorts of Halloween treats here. Way too many to devote a post each to seeing as Halloween is in 6 days so I thought I’d put them all here in one post :o} Hope you don’t mind the Halloweeny overload.

We dipped oval shaped cookies {made from our basic cookie dough recipe} into white chocolate. We also drizzled white chocolate all over to make some of the cookies look like a Mummy. We used dark chocolate bits for the eyes. As these cookies are quite soft it was easy […]

baking paper + crayon iron on transfers

October 24th, 2011|Categories: crafts||4 Comments

Did you know that you can use your average kitchen baking paper and crayons to decorate t-shirts and other fabric?Adding an important note about the crayon choice – we have been using our Crayola Twistables as this is what Noah usually likes to use for drawing and after ironing onto a t-shirt we got good results. A lovely reader mentioned to me that it did not work for her – perhaps because of her crayons. So I tried again at home with normal Crayolas and also $2 shop crayons and the results were very […]

breville scraper mixer – video

October 21st, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: |2 Comments

I have received numerous emails about the Breville Scraper Mixer since the give-away asking if I really do love mine. :o} I wasn’t paid to say what I said about my mixer being my new best friend – I really do enjoy using it and it does everything I want it to. I look for excuses to use it!!Some were asking me if it is noisy and unstable because they’d like to get one for Christmas but they’re just not sure. Well, I have made a video for you of my Breville Scraper Mixer […]

I can’t tell you how so very thankful I am for each and every one of you that left a comment of support, or sent me a touching e-mail or a lovely facebook message.To be honest I am completely overwhelmed by your messages and really wasn’t expecting this. Over 120 of you contacted me and I am so touched, humbled and honoured. Thank you all for taking time out of your day to write to me.I feel like this message is so lame compared to all the messages I received from you. I just […]

some easy halloween fun

October 11th, 2011|Categories: crafts|Tags: , |6 Comments

I know it’s not something widely celebrated in Australia, but I am a Halloween lover and I grew up with it, and so in our house we have a little bit of fun with it.

So I’m sharing a couple of really easy Halloweeny crafts we’ve done so far.

1. Egg carton spiders.

We just cut out some little egg carton bits and painted them black.
We hole punched 4 holes in each side {look closely they are totally not lined up but it doesn’t matter}
and then Noah threaded pipe cleaner legs through.
We then glued googly eyes {I […]

10 Things You Didn’t Really Need To Know About Me

October 11th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: |6 Comments

I was tagged by Deb at Home Life Simplified and I thought I’d play along for fun! Thanks so much Deb, I enjoyed reading your 10 Things!So here are 10 things you didn’t really need to know about me.1. I absolutely hate spiders – I am scared of them .. ever since I was about 10 and dreamt they were crawling all over me, under the bed sheets. It truly scared the life out of me, and I ran out of my room and staying in the living room for over 2 hours. When […]

diy magnetic chalkboard

October 9th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |5 Comments

When we first shared our new playroom I showed you this picture of what you see when you walk in. The frame was a project I had not finished and it stayed like that for a little longer than I like but the other weekend we finally finished it up.I had wanted a large magnetic chalkboard here and because I couldn’t find one to buy {Ikea do make a super cute one, but it isn’t available in WA yet} we decided to make one. I found a large frame at the Reject Shop for $20 […]

grass seed egg plantings

October 6th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , , |12 Comments

One of our Spring activities recently has been these ever so cute egg plantings. These would also be fantastic as an Easter activity!I saw this idea here where they used egg cartons filled with soil to grow grass seeds. As I wanted this to be an indoor thing I really didn’t want to use any dirt so used cotton balls instead. We had been collecting egg shells which thankfully doesn’t take too long around here when you bake a lot and your husband likes poached eggs for breakfast. We just carefully broke the shells at the […]
