goals for 2012 – and a free printable

December 29th, 2011|Categories: printables|Tags: |0 Comments

{image}The new year is almost here – and I love a fresh start. Although I do believe you can make a fresh start when ever you want – change direction or make new goals at any time of year – for so many {including me} the New Year does indeed bring with it a sense of rejuvenation and new beginnings. In our family we don’t often use the word resolution – I know it’s just a word but for me it brings with it negative connotations and usually implies you have something negative about you […]

Christmas Wishes

December 24th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |0 Comments

I kind of wish Christmas wasn’t already almost over. I have about 5 crafts and activities we haven’t done, 6 recipes I haven’t tried out yet and about 8 un-finished blog posts of things I had wanted to share with you this year. But I am trying to let it go and to just enjoy this time without stressing about my ‘to do’ list. We accomplished a lot and enjoyed the lead up to Christmas and our Advent Calendar activities and that is the most important thing. This time of year is so magical, and I […]

snowman puffy paint

December 22nd, 2011|Categories: crafts, printables|Tags: |3 Comments

I found this idea on Pinterest and knew my kiddos would have fun making their own little puffy paint snowmen. It is really easy to mix up the ‘paint’ – 1 part shaving cream and 1 part pva glue.I made up a bowl for each kiddo and used 1/3 cup of each shaving cream and pva glue for each bowl and this was PLENTY. I’d probably just make up the 1 bowl with 1/3 cup each next time for my two.Just mix the shaving cream and glue together. And paint!Easy yes!?Then we decorated our snowmen with […]

christmas fingerprint fun

December 19th, 2011|Categories: crafts|Tags: , |1 Comment

After falling in love with the Reindeer thumbprints we did on Noah’s bookmarks I decided we all needed to make some christmas fingerprint art to display in our home. So the other weekend I painted these mini canvases in a few different colours – winter blue, a slight teal and a washed out gold. After our canvas dried, we each added a thumbprint. The antlers and eyes were done with a fine permanent marker and the nose was done with a small dot of red paint. After seeing these cute snowman ornaments on Eighteen25 last year I really […]

Frosty the Eggman ?

December 16th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |0 Comments

Remember these little Easter Egg chicks from Easter?Well did I try to make a Christmassy egg this year too? YEP.I couldn’t resist. Too funny. Noah nearly fell over with excitement when he saw his lunch!I started with two hard boiled eggs – some black sesame seeds, a toothpick and teeny triangles cut from carrot. It is much easier to get a decent result with the sesame seeds if you use the toothpick to create a little hole to poke the sesame seeds into first, instead of just trying to shove the sesame seed into the egg. I […]

salt dough ornaments

December 12th, 2011|Categories: crafts|Tags: |0 Comments

Last week we made some salt dough ornaments to hang on the tree. This is always a favourite for our family and it is really quite easy to do. It can get a little messy but it’s really no different to cookie dough / play dough!Recipe:1/2 cup table salt (I have found it is much much better to use table salt rather than cooking salt!)1 cup plain flour1/2 cup waterMix all ingredients in a bowl and then knead til smooth. If you want to colour your dough you can add the colour to the water before […]

Hi lovlies!I have been receiving a lot of emails about Reindeer Food and what bags to put them in. I have found a fabulous Australian source for these bags – Pack It In. You can also find them on their facebook page here. They have a huge range of really great quality bags but the ones I use specifically for my toppers are the 75mm x 100mm sized bags. I think these are also called the 75mm x 100mm giftcard bags. This is how I make Reindeer Food. It is really up to you what […]
